Kaspars Rokens, Chairman of the Board
Kaspars Rokens is an expert in heat energy and an experienced manager, who has worked in the top management of international companies. A result-orientated team player with an excellent understanding of BIM systems, the construction industry, in particular railway infrastructure, and experience in the management and organisation of construction tenders.
Has obtained a Master’s and Engineer’s degree in heat energy at Riga Technical University and Master’s in Business Administration at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. From 2017 to 2019, Kaspars Rokens was the Board member and Director of Operations of AS “RB Rail”, where he was responsible for the design and construction of transport infrastructure. From 2011 to 2017, he acted as Board member and Chairman of the Board of SIA “Schneider Electric Latvia” and Head of the company in Latvia and the Baltics. He supervised the production and sale of electrical equipment and development of energy-efficient solutions. For more than 3 years he was involved on the Board of the Latvian Association of Electrical Engineers and Power Plant Contractors.
As a sub-contractor he has participated in the implementation of construction projects such as the National Library.
Ivo Brālēns, VELVE BOARD MEMBER / Technical Director
Ivo Brālēns is a professional with 20 years of experience in the construction field. He has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and the qualification of Civil Engineer in the specialisation of construction and reconstruction at Riga Technical University. He began his professional career as a Construction Manager, and has worked in the positions of Chief Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Director and Technical Director at several construction companies of Latvia.
Ivo Brālēns has extensive experience in the designing and construction of large public buildings, as well as residential buildings and office premises. His competencies include project/construction management at the construction site, which involves management and controlling of human resources, inspection of the construction works and material quality, planning of the supplies, management of agreement execution, representation of the contractor, and many other aspects of the profession, as well as training of new construction workers in the construction field by educating the young professionals.
The work and experience of Ivo Brālēns has been acknowledged twice by an industry award, when he received the title of Engineer of the Year at the Annual Construction Industry Awards in 2013 and 2015.
