We are pleased that in this important event we received 2nd place in the category “Public Construction Project”! The award is for the Riga Stradins University dormitories construction project. It is one of the largest VELVE public building construction projects that creates a joint study and research complex in the university central building area.

The total area of the new three-storey student housing and underground parking lot is 5401.4 m2. There are 135 rooms located in the student dormatory, providing in total accommodation for 220 students. There are also rooms for students with physical disabilities. All rooms in the student dormatories are divided into three categories, depending on the comfort level and number of inhabitants. For the convenience of students there is a parking lot for 32 cars in the territory and the basement of the building has parking spaces for another 37 cars, as well as a special stand for bicycles.

“We are satisfied with everything we have accomplished and we hope that students will be able to spend their free time more qualitatively in the new complex,” tells Ainārs Leitēns, Chairman of the Board of SIA VELVE.

The main purpose of the new student dormatory is to provide modern and premium living conditions for an increasing number of students in close proximity of university. While living in the new housing, students will have convenient access to the library, university auditoriums and university research centres.
